About us
Our Aim
Our aim is to reduce the risk of wastage once thoroughbreds have finished racing. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits. Our decision making process is informed by comprehensive evaluation from running horse shows for retired racehorses over the past 11 years. Our goal is to see that Off The Track NSW Inc achieves even more with our initiative than ever before. We work on sponsoring extra classes at Ag Shows, Dressage Clubs, Showjumping. working equitation etc, specifically for retired race horses to help improve their lives once they leave the race track, and we are very proud of the progress we continue to make. The winning horses at these events come together every October to compete against each other in our Annual Country Championships held at the Gunnedah Showgrounds. This initiative has grown to be very successful even through times of fire, drought and Covid, we have demonstrated how perseverance, hard work and country community spirits can help in changing the direction of these horses by demonstrating how the Thoroughbred is one of the most versatile breeds in the world. Our strategy-development process features input from members, as well as riders, coaches, & our executive officials. The output of our strategy development process is a strategy which defines: the collective vision for Off The Track classes & events.
Our Support Team
Our support team consists of knowledgeable equine enthusiasts a highly educated (PhD & past University Lecturer of Equine & Animal Nutritionist providing feed evaluations & nutritional health/behaviour advice, feed & product formulation based on scientific research. Also sponsors, executives, members, coaches and our families. It also includes people like you. So please feel free to sign up for newsletters & events that will be held for retired race horses and learn all about how you may be able to support these Thoroughbreds on their road to victory.

At Off The Track NSW Inc, wellbeing is at the forefront of what we’re working towards together. Our programs and activities are designed to capture the interest of owners that have invested in a Thoroughbred post racing, which in turn helps community members/riders reach their goals and fulfill their potential.
